Race Results

I attached the link to the race results .....we finished 152nd out of 227....not too bad for a super ultra team. 

......Cape Cod is in May......only 175 miles....and 24 of the 36 legs are easy or moderate.........

Hotels

There are NO hotels available in Lake Placid. The closest is Plattsburgh...

volunteers

Scheduling for volunteers is open and the slots seem to be going fast. 

Liz is willing to do it and would want to do a slot towards the end of the race....late morning saturday to saturday afternoon.....if anyone knows someone who could do the same time I'm sure she'd like the company.

...just don't want to have to try and find people to work at 3am if we don't get people signed up soon enough.

Pre-Race Planning with Beer

Dave and I were discussing the idea of getting together in Syracuse to discuss logistics of the race. The Sunday of Labor Day would work for us...everyone can come to our house for food, beer, and swimming. Let me know what you think. If this date doesn't work, throw out some other dates and we can figure something out.

Start Times

As of 08-06 I can request our preferred start time.  Our choices are based on team pace, etc.  As of now I can pick between 6:30am and 12:00pm.....the times are in half-hour increments.  If anyone has a preference let me know in the next day or so.

Also volunteers can begin choosing time slots beginning 08-15.  The shifts are first come-first serve so the sooner we get people signed on the better chance they have of getting a time and place that works for them.  Let me know if we have anyone who definetly wants in and we will get them signed up.

HouseKeeping Item Area

Tim and Jason - did you guys get the "invite" emails to join the team?  There is a waiver included that needs to be addressed.  In addition, until you do that I can't monkey with leg assignments etc. 

So far Dave and I are in the system but I don't think either of us wants to pull our first 100 miler on this course.

Work Outs

I'm running to the Gym this week (2 miles away), lifting then running home. Keeping miles low... building base an strength.

Registration Day

The point of no return.....later today I will be officially entering us for the race (Fee goes up as of 6/21).....after that there's no turning back.

Top 10 Reason I know we are all good father's:


10)  None of us has a "baby mama" - or two or three.
9)  We have never sent a child to "Camp Good Touch - the place for an unforgettable summer" with Bernie Fine and Jerry Sandusky.
8)  None of us has left a child 6 or under at home alone over night (or over the weekend).
7)  None of us has had our car stolen with our child inside.
6)  The only police officer my son knows on a first name basis is me.
5)  We don't have a new kid everytime we decide we need an extra $600 a month from social services.
4)  Our children are not allowed to ride their bicycles on the street without helmets - AT 3AM.
3)  None of our children have seen us hit their mother with anything worse than an open hand.
2)  The top of one of those big green turtle sandboxes has never doubled as the family pool and the pitbull's waterdish.
